The Diagnostics Achievement Award of the Technical Committee on Diagnostics , IEEE Power Electronics Society, was established to honor innovators who contributed to the technical areas of this committee. The award is to be presented biennially (once every two years ( odd years)) to an individual, for outstanding sustained technical contributions and services in the field of monitoring and diagnostics for electrical machines, power electronics, and drives.
There are no restrictions for the award recipient as to nationality, age , gender, or IEEE membership grade. The criteria considered by the Diagnostics Achievement Award include:
Judgment of the award recipient will be based on the nominator’s recommendation , the endorsement letters, and personal knowledge of the Diagnostics Achievement Award Selection Committee’s expert members. Voting will be under the leadership of the Award Chair and the outcome will be based on the majority consensus. If suitable candidates are not available for that year, the Selection Committee can recommend to forfeit the award for that year.
For nomination, the nominator must send the nomination form (available at the SDEMPED website) with at least two reference letters to the Awards Chair, Dr. Sang Bin Lee (sangbinlee@korea.ac.kr) by April 27, 2009. The nominee must be a member of the IEEE and the IEEE Power Electronics Society.
